About us
At Open Air Community Services, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to live a connected, fulfilling, and meaningful life. Founded by April and Nathan, our service is built on over 27 years of combined experience in the disability sector and a shared passion for inclusion, creativity, and community connection.
April has worked in disability services for more than 17 years, holding a variety of roles from support worker for people with complex needs, to program coordinator developing creative and inclusive initiatives. She has also worked in specialist support coordination and senior leadership, most recently managing a team of specialist support coordinators and case managers. A qualified counsellor with a creative and approach, April brings warmth, insight, and innovation to every aspect of her work.
Nathan has been a senior support worker and team leader for over 10 years, supporting people with high and complex needs. Nathan has facilitated highly successful inclusive recreation groups in the community and recognises the need for inclusive engaging activities. Growing up in a small town in Western Australia’s South West, he has a deep appreciation for community connection. Nathan is passionate about physical movement, the outdoors, fishing, and helping people engage with their local communities in meaningful ways.
Together, April and Nathan founded Open Air Community Services to combine their skills, experience, and shared vision: providing high-quality, open, and transparent support to people with disability and their families, while creating opportunities for fun, engaging, and inclusive activities that foster connection, confidence, and wellbeing.
